In 2004, Fleming created Contrast Design, located in southern New Jersey dedicated to creating quality residential exterior environments based on inspired design, harmonious material selections and meticulous installation practices.

Watershapes quickly became a significant element in Fleming’s designs so in 2000 he extended his education by completing Genesis 3 Level I & II design courses. This effort led to his collaboration with David Tisherman (co-founder of Genesis 3 & partners with Fleming in their swimming pool design / build firm, Liquid Design www.liquiddesignllc.com (also located in Southern New Jersey). Fleming has an unyielding passion to produce exceptional landscape design and construction applications. He believes that the finished project should awaken the senses through the composition of shapes, textures, light and movement.

Fleming graduated from West Virginia University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture. From 1991 to 2004 he spent the early part of his career creating outdoor environments for a unique residential clientele

responsible for designing and constructing multi-phased landscape master plans. During this time Fleming honed his skills and educated himself on every aspect of design and construction detailing. He began to approach each project as if it were its own piece of art, a seamless integration of landscape, art & architecture.

2005 Fleming completed all mandatory core classes required to earn his certification as a member of the “Society of Watershape Designers” (SWD), becoming one of the first ten participants to be awarded that honor by the Genesis 3 group. He is currently an instructor for Genesis 3, teaching “Elements of Design”.
